This week we feature a delicious herbal tea designed to strengthen immune systems. It’s aptly called Organic Immuni-T. The ingredients are –
Echinacea. A member of the daisy family. Commonly used by Native Americans for 100's of years. In the 1920's, research carried out in Germany showed it strengthened the immune system and reduced the symptoms of colds and flu.
Lemon Myrtle. Lemon myrtle is a flowering plant native to the subtropical rainforests of southeast Queensland, Australia. According to the "Encyclopaedia of Natural Medicine," lemon myrtle can help treat sinus infections, bronchitis, fatigue, depression, common cold, influenza, raw throat and indigestion.
Astragalus. A herb that has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. It is used to protect and support the immune system, preventing colds and upper respiratory infections, lowering blood pressure, treating diabetes, and protecting the liver. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. In the United States, researchers have looked at astragalus as a possible treatment for people whose immune systems have been weakened by chemotherapy or radiation. In these studies, astragalus supplements seem to help people recover faster and live longer.
Siberian Ginseng. In the 1950's, a Russian scientist reported on its notable stress-repelling powers. His published research showed people taking the herb were found to better endure physical strain and resist disease. Siberian Ginseng is effective in warding off colds and flu and is reputed to enhance memory.
